Captain America and the Avengers is an action beat 'em up platformer developed and published by Data East, later ported to other platforms by Realtime Associates and published by Mindscape.

he player can choose to play as one of the four members of the Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye and the Vision. Each character fights hand-to-hand, throw items, and use ranged special attacks known as the character's "Avenger Attack." Players can also encounter the Wasp, Quicksilver, Wonder Man and Namor the Sub-Mariner when collecting special power-ups.

Most levels feature side-scorlling fighting.
