Puyo Puyo Sun (JP) is an entry in the Puyo Puyo series. The Nintendo 64 version was released as Puyo Puyo Sun 64 (JP) while the Game Boy Color version was released as Pocket Puyo Puyo Sun(JP)

Puyo fall from the top of the screen in pairs, can be moved left and right, and can be rotated clockwise and counter clockwise by 90 degrees; if the third column from the left fills up to the top, the game is over.

What sets this game apart is the introduction of the Sun Puyo - By offsetting waiting Nuisance Puyo, the player earns Sun Puyo that drop into random columns. They are similar to Nuisance Puyo except that they increase the amount of Nuisance that the opponent receives when they are cleared. Sun Puyo is also given whenever the player clears their entire area.
