In Cianwood City, there's a PokéManiac named Mania who got bullied by the Rival into giving up his rare Pokémon (Sneasel), so he gives you another one, a Shuckle named Shuckie, for safekeeping; after a while, he will ask for it back; if the player agrees, he will let them keep it if it has high friendship; however, if the player refuses to give Shuckie back, he will accuse them of stealing.
