The Double Yakuman games are named for a valuable hand in Japanese rules mahjong, which is what this series focuses on. The first game in the series, March 1993's Double Yakuman, was released on Game Boy. Subsequent games would be released on both the Game Boy and the Super Famicom platforms, with the Super Famicom games adding the "Super" prefix to titles.
