Pokémon Ruby Version (ポケットモンスタールビー Poketto Monsutā Rubī?) and Pokémon Sapphire Version (ポケットモンスターサファイア Poketto Monsutā Safaia?) are two role-playing games in the Pokémon series Pokémon Europe released on July 20 03 in Game Boy Advance on 20 July 03. These titles mark the start of the third generation, which also includes the subsequent Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (2004) and Pokémon Emerald (2005). The remakes of the two games, titled Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, were released for Nintendo 3DS worldwide in November 2014, exactly twelve years later, with the exception of Europe, where they were released one week later.

The main features of the game have remained largely unchanged from previous games; the player controls the main character from a top-down perspective, and the controls are largely the same as its predecessors. The main objective is to capture all Pokémon and defeat the Elite Four, while simultaneously defeating a criminal organization attempting to take over the region. New features have been added, such as 2v2 battles, Pokémon abilities, and 135 new pocket monsters. Due to the increased capabilities of the Game Boy Advance, up to four players can be linked together at the same time instead of two, as was the case in the past. Additionally, the games can be connected to an e-Reader or other Generation III Pokémon games.

The games have received mostly positive reviews: most of the criticisms have focused on the gameplay, very similar to past generations and the connectivity problems with previous titles. With over 16.22 million copies sold, they were a commercial success and became the best-selling game for the Game Boy Advance; however, Ruby and Sapphire scored less than previous title pairs.
