The third generation in the Pokemon series, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Versions allow you to catch and train 386 Pokémon, 135 of which are brand new to the franchise. You can again play as a male or female trainer, and can link battle against anyone else with a copy of Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon FireRed, Pokémon LeafGreen or Pokémon Emerald. The game opens up a new region to players called Hoenn. Bringing in and adding to the series new towns, locations, and new characters into the series.
