Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire (in Japanese ポケットモンスター ルビー・サファイア Poketto Monsutā Rubī - Safaia) are the first video games of the third generation, released for Game Boy Advance. These versions feature a new region, Hoenn, with new Pokémon. A third version, Pokémon Emerald, taking up the basic universe of the two previous games while bringing new features, was released 2 years later. These two games will have a remake 11 years later, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
