Pokémon Versione Rosso Fuoco and Pokémon Versione Verde Foglia are two video games from the third generation main series. They are the first two Pokémon video game remakes of the main series, and therefore, although belonging to the third generation, they are set in Kanto and have the same plot and characters of the games they are inspired by, Pokémon Red and Green, even if there are many additions and updates, to make it possible to compare and communicate with other third generation games.
Although Pokémon Green was never sold outside Japan and therefore Pokémon Red was paired with Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon LeafGreen was exported all over the world. Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are the second best-selling games on the Game Boy Advance, second only to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and also received Nintendo's "Player's choice" award
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are also the first games to take advantage of wireless technology, with a special adapter for the Game Boy Advance initially included in the game packaging.
