Tubular Worlds is a 1994 space shooter video game developed by Creative Game Design and distributed by German company Dongleware Verlags GmbH for the MS-DOS, Amiga, and Apple Macintosh platforms. It was possible to play it alone or simultaneously in two players. In two-player mode, each of them had to use a different input device, one for example a keyboard and the other a joystick or mouse.
It is a horizontally scrolling 2D shooter where the player controls a space rocket moving from left to right and fighting a number of diverse enemies while collecting all kinds of weapons. The landscape is not seen from the side (as, for example, in the similar game R-Type), but from above. The environment is divided into four worlds, each of them further into four sections with a final boss at the end. Weapons include red, blue, green missiles, semi-guided missiles and a protection satellite against enemies that get too close.
The game has a high difficulty, one hit from enemies is enough to destroy the racket. At the same time, the player will also lose all accumulated weapons. A total of 3 lives are available, others can be found during the game or received after collecting 100 orbs dropped from enemies.
